Ground deformation and subsidence have been recorded in certain areas. Protective barriers have been installed; these mark the boundaries of the affected zone and restrict access to hazardous areas under surveillance. According to some reports, such zones of sudden structural failure may remain undetected due to the collapse of the surface layer. The situation at the site remains unstable. Monitoring is ongoing.
